To give priority to public transport at the intersection.

«SpetsDorProekt» installed a «Smart intersection» with a gateway for public transport in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk.

When a bus pulls up to the bus stop, the traffic light turns red. To prevent cars from standing in the public transport exit area, we stop them at the preliminary stop line. The bus goes ahead, and the cars follow it! Thus, we give priority to public transport.

And motorists are not delayed, either — the pre-stop line only keeps them a dozen meters away from the intersection.
