Lively pedestrian traffic of tens of thousands of people rushing to work, meetings, errands, and back home. All of them spent their precious time waiting for a traffic light at the subway station and the MCC, even when there is very little traffic.

That's why the Smart Intersection was installed here, where the light is always green for pedestrians in the absence of traffic. Pedestrians do not press a button to trigger the green light, but cars trigger the phase to pass through using inductive loop detectors. Moscow has been using this version of the Smart intersection system for two years, and London has just begun testing it.
